Our Kidz Biz Philosophy and Centre Goals

Regulatory Compliance:
Child Care Services (Child Care) Regulations 2006 & 2007; Child Care Services Act 2007.

The service enforces the standards set by the National Childcare Accreditation Council.

Early Learning Care Program:
We provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for the children.

We foster multiculturalism in our society. The centre respects the cultural and religious practices of all families and strives to accommodate these, where appropriate.

All children are encouraged to perform to their maximum potential and in turn acquire skills for the successful progression to the next stage of development.

We utilise child resource agencies and implement individual programs, to support the development of children with additional needs.

We encourage all children to participate in challenging, stimulating, age-related and achievable experiences that develop feelings of positive self-esteem and self worth.

Children’s interests and abilities drive the development of programs.

We believe children learn through play. The program devotes large blocks of time each day, for child initiated and directed play.

Individual and small group experiences occur more frequently than whole group experiences.

We plan developmentally appropriate programs that reflect our Centre’s philosophy and goals, while focusing on a holistic approach to each individual child’s development.

Children are encouraged to become independent learners, through play, exploration, enquiry and reflection.

Cyclical, individual and group observations are taken of the children and a variety of formats are used to record and collate the information. The Qualified staff utilise this information to devise objectives and activities for the individual and room programs.

Centre programs present children with an un-biased, non-stereotypical and global perspective in their learning experiences.

All written documents are free for children’s parents to view. Individual meetings are held to allow parents to discuss their child’s progress.

Children’s Progress Reports are distributed to parents every four months.

Consistent and predictable routines, reduces stress and provides children with a sense of security and belonging in their environment.

Positive, clear and consistent expectations help children manage their own behaviour and interactions with others.

Discussions encourage children to reflect on their learning, experiences and interactions.

Children are encouraged to verbalise emotions, thoughts and feelings.

Staff praise, model and reinforce appropriate behaviours amongst children.

Management of Quality:
We are privately owned.  The owners are the licensee and have Early Childhood knowledge. They take a hands-on-approach and steer centre operations.

Management work closely together, communicate daily and more formally during monthly management meetings.

Staff support management through combining effectively as a professional team who are committed to upholding the centre philosophy and goals.

The Supervising Officer runs the centre on a day to day basis following the centre philosophy, goals, policies and procedures and introduces new practices as decided in collaboration with the owners. The Supervising Officer is legally answerable to the Child Care Licensing and Standards Unit. The Supervising Officer is responsible to maintain centre functioning at the highest possible standard.

A State Manager frequently attends and supports each centre. The State Manager is responsible for ensuring each centre is delivering a high quality child care service to the children, families and the community, in all aspects of its operation.

The centre grounds and premises are drug and alcohol free zones.

The centre is non-residential.

The centre is Nut Free.

Centre Goals:
We aim to cater for each child’s interests, abilities and needs by providing developmentally appropriate programs which are individualistic and develop the cognitive, linguistic, social, spiritual, emotional and physical domains of their development.

For children to enjoy the time they spend with their caregivers and peers at the centre.

All children will encounter success in their learning and time spent at the Centre.

To provide programs that incorporate free play, structure, flexibility, planned and spontaneous experiences.  Programs will provide children with security and stability as well as freedom of choice, developmentally-appropriate challenges and child directed learning.

To provide programmed experiences which promote non-gender bias and equity.

To provide programs that promote an awareness and an acceptance of cultural and religious diversity, by focusing on similarities amongst mankind.

To liaise with resource agencies, staff and families to implement individual programs for children with additional needs.

To provide a non-violent, cooperative and friendly environment in which children can have pride in their own identity and develop respect for others.

To provide a safe and hygienic caring environment.

To provide nutritionally balanced meals that cater for specific dietary needs of the children.  The menus include multicultural meals, seasonal variety and are nut free.

Caregivers and centre management stay relevant to issues within the Childcare industry. The centre operates following the Centre Policies and Procedures developed in conjunction with it’s parent body, staff and management.

To actively involve the centre families and community members with the happenings of the centre.  To keep parents informed of changes and all aspects of their children’s development and care.
